" Designing for my clients becomes a very personal thing. I first believe that I am building a strong and working relationship on a one to one with them, and that I must remain open-minded and hear all or their needs, ideas, and desires. "
"Next is to guide them through good decision making, but always encouraging the concept of thinking outside of the box. As the project takes place, I find that my clients really enjoy the process of discovering their own style and learning what they are all about. "

DESIGNER BIOJason Ball "started" designing" as a kid, often rearranging his room and putting up new "art" (read "posters"). He has always had some level of interest in creating a comfortable space around him. In 1999, he and his wife purchased a vintage home in NE Portland. A previous owner had tried unsuccessfully to modernize the home, but in the process removed the original character and replaced it with thin baseboards, gray carpet and white walls, rendering the home not very interesting or comfortable. Through a long and tedious process, they brought back some of the period feel of 1908 with wood floors, custom woodwork and period light fixtures. This is where Jason fell in love with the restoration, remodel and design process.
In 2004, Jason Ball Interiors was created. Jason works with a broad range of clients throughout the Portland and Vancouver regions, on a broad range of project - kitchen and bathroom remodels, custom furniture, custom window coverings and other decor projects. He believes that we all want to be surrounded by a space that reflects our personality. Clients may not know the specifics of what they're looking for, but through an extensive "discovery" phase, Jason will learn the design aesthetics that most appeal to the client. It may be a piece of artwork or some knick knack passed down through generations. Or just maybe, it means a complete transformation of the clients' home. All that is needed to start the design process is one item or one clue. Everything else can come from there. Jason works diligently and continuously throughout the design process to find the perfect balance between color, materials, flow and personal aesthetic. Once the balance is achieved, the design is complete.

DESIGNER BIOTerrance Mason is a degreed Portland-based interior designer serving residential and commercial clients in the Pacific Northwest area. His design passion centers around creating comfortable, awe-enriching interiors that are balanced with - what he calls - ‘a little bit of whimsy.’
Terrance Mason has over fifteen years experience as an interior designer. Prior to receiving his degree of Applied Sciences in Interior Design, Terrance accumulated a robust fifteen years of professional experience as an award-winning pastry chef and as a distinguished floral designer. These two prior incarnations, as he likes to call them, grounded Terrance in the fundamentals of design, application, and execution. On multiple occasions, Terrance received public praise and honors for his avant-garde contributions to these professions. In addition, Terrance is an Associate Member of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers (NWSID) and regularly donates his time to local charities.
Terrance focuses his professional energy on helping clients articulate their own personal narratives, tastes and subtle nuances. He takes great pleasure in uncovering a client’s likes and dislikes, their idiosyncrasies, their collections, and their unique color palette. As he likes to put it, “I am here to help my clients design interiors that tell their story.” In the end, it’s all about two important considerations: the Client and How They Inhabit the Space. The rest is up to the Designer.
Terrance draws inspiration from traveling around the world, studying furniture design and its evolution, and taking in as much of the world’s architecture as possible. In his world travels, Terrance always makes a point of visiting a city’s art and design collections and/or its botanical gardens. He has traveled extensively through the United States, Europe, and Central America, and has ambitions of traveling to Asia in the near future. Consequently, Terrance has greatly expanded his first-hand knowledge of design around the world, where it has come from, and where it is going. In his words, “When I am traveling in a foreign country, and I see something new and exciting, I know it will have repercussions in the world of design. All design is interlinked. What is happening in China today could be happening in my client’s living room tomorrow.”
Terrance is available to consult with clients on residential and small commercial interior design projects.
