DESIGNER BIODaliaDesign Group was founded in 2009 by Owner/Principal, Phyllis Eastman who was born and raised in Portland Oregon into an artistic family that fostered the creative process and raised a budding interior designer. Her dad was the artist of the family while mom kept Phyllis and her sisters involved in 4-H, Bluebirds and Camp Fire Girls.
After years in the world of commercial Interior Design, where she was integrally involved with the design and installation of hotels and restaurants including, the planning and installation of large commercial food facilities for retirement communities, Phyllis realized that her true passion lies not only in creating beautiful and exciting interiors, but creating beautiful and exciting interiors that are skillfully and artfully designed for “accessibility” and “visitability”. She now designs wonderful “Inclusive Interiors” for Commercial and Residential projects that are meant to effortlessly and seamlessly include “all people of all ages and all abilities”.
Early in 2004 she embarked on a professional adventure and journey, creating a truly unique and beautiful retail experience, LEE/Eastman Contemporary Design Studio which opened in 2007 in the Bridgeport Village area. But alas the economy had different plans for her as well as for many of you.
Phyllis graduated with honors in Interior Design from Bassist College located in Portland OR, while single-handedly raising two very small boys. Never one to sit still, she has just received her certificate in “Kitchen and Bath Design” from Portland Community College, and will receive a certificate in “Accessibility an Aging in Place” in the spring.
Phyllis is the proud member of the following organizations:
OGA (Oregon Gerontological Association) Board Member & Marketing Committee
NWSID (Northwest Society of Interior Designers) an Associate Member
NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) currently studying for the Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer certification.

Garrison Hullinger Interior Design Inc. DESIGNER BIOGarrison’s interior design work has been described as warm, streamlined and comfortable, with his preferred method of design a mix of contemporary and traditional elements. He prefers texture over pattern in the fabrics that are selected, and has experience working either in a more restricted palette and neutral tones, or a mixture of color and pattern. Both are appropriate design options when handled correctly.
Garrison is intent on creating a home environment that meets or exceeds your objectives for comfort, efficiency and beauty. Through the skilled use of texture, color, fabrics, accessories, lighting and furnishings he will create home living areas that are defined by your requirements and desires. He has a strong belief that proper lighting is crucial. This would involve not only permanently installed fixtures, but perhaps even more importantly, the accurate placement, quantity, and design of table lamps, reading lamps, small lights to highlight works of art, and other ambient light sources. These solutions can bring out the very best in your home.

DESIGNER BIOJason Ball "started" designing" as a kid, often rearranging his room and putting up new "art" (read "posters"). He has always had some level of interest in creating a comfortable space around him. In 1999, he and his wife purchased a vintage home in NE Portland. A previous owner had tried unsuccessfully to modernize the home, but in the process removed the original character and replaced it with thin baseboards, gray carpet and white walls, rendering the home not very interesting or comfortable. Through a long and tedious process, they brought back some of the period feel of 1908 with wood floors, custom woodwork and period light fixtures. This is where Jason fell in love with the restoration, remodel and design process.
In 2004, Jason Ball Interiors was created. Jason works with a broad range of clients throughout the Portland and Vancouver regions, on a broad range of project - kitchen and bathroom remodels, custom furniture, custom window coverings and other decor projects. He believes that we all want to be surrounded by a space that reflects our personality. Clients may not know the specifics of what they're looking for, but through an extensive "discovery" phase, Jason will learn the design aesthetics that most appeal to the client. It may be a piece of artwork or some knick knack passed down through generations. Or just maybe, it means a complete transformation of the clients' home. All that is needed to start the design process is one item or one clue. Everything else can come from there. Jason works diligently and continuously throughout the design process to find the perfect balance between color, materials, flow and personal aesthetic. Once the balance is achieved, the design is complete.

DESIGNER BIOWho better than our client’s to let you know why they had such a great experience with Lord Design:
“In our first meeting, we showed Arlene a single picture containing colors we thought we’d like to see in our home. Using that single picture and a brief conversation to better understand our style, Arlene created an incredible design including floor plan, elevations, and a color palate for our new kitchen. Our new kitchen is as functional as it is gorgeous. Arlene has a tremendous sense of style, and we quickly grew to trust her every instinct. She helped us to stretch to places we may not have gone on our own, and we are now so grateful we did!” ---Darryl and Cora Adams
“Working with Lord Design has been the deciding factor in several successful projects for us. Arlene does an outstanding job understanding our requirements, matching them up with our budget, and applying her refined design aesthetic. Each of our projects with Arlene has stood the test of time and still draws as many compliments as when they were first completed. I would not start a residential or commercial design project without first consulting with Lord Design”---Michael Madigan
“Arlene made it fun---sometimes hilarious! She has an amazing creative flair that pushes the envelope a bit but not to the point of outrageousness. I’m sure I cannot completely convey how absolutely thrilled I am, and continue to be with the ‘fabulous-ness’ you created in my house…from one end to the other.” ---Tina Whitridge
Here’s how we feel about things at Lord Design:
Side by side…it’s how we live. Every day we experience variations of juxtapositions of people and things in our surroundings. Some of them are comfortable and bring a smile. Some of them go unnoticed or unrecognized but you know you want to be there, in that space with these people enjoying the simplicity that makes life sweet. The old with the new, the rough with the refined, the cheap with the expensive; this could be describing who we call friends as well as what elements we surround ourselves with in our home.
At Lord Design, we are celebrating living in concert with contrast. We encourage taking risks, holding onto what is precious and surrounding ourselves with beauty…every day in every room. Share what you have with friends and family. Cocoon yourself in your sanctuary. However you live, do it beautifully, comfortably, fearlessly and with the things and people you hold dear.
Arlene Lord

DESIGNER BIOTerrance Mason is a degreed Portland-based interior designer serving residential and commercial clients in the Pacific Northwest area. His design passion centers around creating comfortable, awe-enriching interiors that are balanced with - what he calls - ‘a little bit of whimsy.’
Terrance Mason has over fifteen years experience as an interior designer. Prior to receiving his degree of Applied Sciences in Interior Design, Terrance accumulated a robust fifteen years of professional experience as an award-winning pastry chef and as a distinguished floral designer. These two prior incarnations, as he likes to call them, grounded Terrance in the fundamentals of design, application, and execution. On multiple occasions, Terrance received public praise and honors for his avant-garde contributions to these professions. In addition, Terrance is an Associate Member of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers (NWSID) and regularly donates his time to local charities.
Terrance focuses his professional energy on helping clients articulate their own personal narratives, tastes and subtle nuances. He takes great pleasure in uncovering a client’s likes and dislikes, their idiosyncrasies, their collections, and their unique color palette. As he likes to put it, “I am here to help my clients design interiors that tell their story.” In the end, it’s all about two important considerations: the Client and How They Inhabit the Space. The rest is up to the Designer.
Terrance draws inspiration from traveling around the world, studying furniture design and its evolution, and taking in as much of the world’s architecture as possible. In his world travels, Terrance always makes a point of visiting a city’s art and design collections and/or its botanical gardens. He has traveled extensively through the United States, Europe, and Central America, and has ambitions of traveling to Asia in the near future. Consequently, Terrance has greatly expanded his first-hand knowledge of design around the world, where it has come from, and where it is going. In his words, “When I am traveling in a foreign country, and I see something new and exciting, I know it will have repercussions in the world of design. All design is interlinked. What is happening in China today could be happening in my client’s living room tomorrow.”
Terrance is available to consult with clients on residential and small commercial interior design projects.
