The membership of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers consists of:

Professional Designer Member
Annual dues are $275.00.
New applicants or Associate Members who successfully pass the NCIDQ or CQRID and satisfy the requirements of the state in which the member resides.

Associate Designer Member
Annual dues are $275.00.
New applicants or qualifying Apprentice Members must provide evidence of one of the following:

A.

Completion of a four-year college in an interior design or related program with two years of design experience (sealed transcripts required).
|

B.
|
Completion of a two-year college/technical school in an interior design program with four years of design work experience (sealed transcripts required).
|
|
C.
|
Successful work as an Interior Designer for six years or longer. You must currently be working at least 35 hours per week as an Interior Designer, and provide three letters of recommendation from references (references are to be employers in the design field or clients). In order to maintain confidentiality, self-addressed envelopes will be provided to you for your references to send directly to the membership chairperson for review. Please notify the membership chairperson to send you these envelopes.

Schools or programs that are less than 2 years do not meet the educational requirement for membership.

E.
|
It is recommended that Associate Members at the end of three years take either the NCIDQ or CQRID, or the equivalent as required by the state in which the member resides, and move to Professional status.

Apprentice Designer Member
Annual Dues are $275.00

A.
|
A current Student Member must provide proof of degree in order to be elevated to Apprentice membership status.
|
|
B.
|
A member who has received their two, four, or five-year
|
|
|
degree in interior design or design related field and is working towards their work experience equivalency. Sealed transcripts showing successful completion of program must be provided with application.
|
|
C.
|
Schools or programs less than 2 years are not recognized
|
|
|
as educational criteria towards membership.

Student Designer Member
Annual dues are $55.00.

A.
|
A member currently enrolled in a two, four, or five-year degree program in interior design or design related field. Sealed school transcripts must be provided with your application and you must be in good standing with your college.

B.
|
Students may not vote or hold an elected office.
|
|
C.
|
Schools or programs less than 2 years do not meet the educational requirement for membership.
|
Application Fees for Students are waived.

Professional Resource Affiliate (PRA)
Annual Dues are $275.00
Professionals in allied trades and those working in the education of Interior Design.

|
To qualify for membership, Professional Resource Affiliates must meet the following requirements:

|
Has valid business licenses/credentials and references.
|
|
|
1b.
|
Has a minimum of two years continuous work or experience in the profession.
|
|
|
1c.
|
Is currently working in the profession on application.
|
|
|
1d.
|
Has upheld state/city/county and country laws.
|
|
|
1e.
|
Each business member is allowed two (2) representatives.
|
|
|
2
|
2. Educator
|
|
|
2a.
|
Is currently a certified educator in Interior Design.
|
|
|
2b.
|
Is working for a qualified school of Interior Design.
|
|
|
2c.
|
Has upheld state/city/county and country laws.
|
|
B.
|
|
PRA members may not vote unless they hold an elected office on the Chapter Board. This excludes the office of President and President Elect.

C.
|
|
Each qualified interior design school is entitled to one honorary PRA membership for a qualified educator.
